Angie has been volunteering with Chance Shelter since 2017. She currently serves as the HR Coordinator. In that role she is the initial point of contact once a person has submitted their volunteer application. She really enjoys the opportunity to meet and interact with our new volunteers. She also is the Vice President (Interim) of the Board.
Before moving to Surprise, Angie and her husband, John, lived in the Chicago area. Her career’s work was in finance. Her volunteer work always focused on helping women and children in crisis situations. She served in multiple capacities with an organization that provided services to victims of domestic violence. In addition, she has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the juvenile justice system in Will County, Illinois.
Since moving to Sun City Grand, she has become actively involved in many things. Angie volunteers with the Surprise Fire-Medical Department’s Crisis Response Unit. It is through her work with Crisis Response that she became involved with Chance Shelter. She is a avid Pickleball player (and would love to introduce any of you to the game) and enjoys traveling and loves Hand and Foot. She has three children and one awesome Granddog, Cooper.
