Chance Shelter provides a vital service to our community, serving as a central resource for various outreach alliances. Our mission for this program is to support organizationssuch as hospital caseworkers, assisted-living facilities, funeral homes, human services, and first responders.
Through a warm referral process, we ensure that these facilities have a reliable resource for pets during crisis situations. In times of crisis, when individuals or families lack the support of family members or friends to care for their pets, Chance Shelter steps in to provide assistance. We understand that a crisis for a person or family is oftenalso a crisis for their beloved pet. By caring for these pets, we enable our alliances tofocus on providing care for the people they serve.
If it is determined that the owner is unable to reunite with the pet and there is no next of kin willing or able to take the pet, we will begin the process of finding a new forever home. Chance Shelter is not a public intake facility and does not take in stray pets, but we offer a Rehoming program that allows you, as the pet owner, to be involved in selecting the new forever home for your pet.
As we look towards the future, our goal is to expand our facility, strengthening our ability to support our community, outreach alliances, and the individuals we serve. At Chance Shelter, we are committed to providing compassionate care for pets and peace of mind for their owners during difficult times.
