There are people who see a need in the world and simply walk past it. Then there are others, like Greg Colson, who stop, roll up their sleeves, and do something about it.

Greg was one of those rare souls. As a co-founder of Chance Shelter, he devoted himself to giving vulnerable animals a second chance at life. At the same time, he touched the lives of countless people along the way. Every animal rescued, every family made whole, every frightened creature given safety and love carries a piece of Greg’s heart in it.

He didn’t just help build an organization. He helped build a community of compassion.

Greg believed that every life has value .. that no animal should be forgotten, discarded, or left without hope. That belief wasn’t just a mission to him. It was the way he lived. The work he started will continue because the foundation he laid is strong, and the spirit he brought to it is woven into everything Chance Shelter continues to do.
