Cookie is a 14-1/2 year old Female Chihuahua mix. She is on a monthly thyroid medication, up to date on vaccines and is spayed.
Cookie has a very emotional story. She was found alone in her kennel after 13 days without food or water. It is a miracle she survived as her cat and bird siblings did not. She was rushed to the vet and they were surprised that she had lived.
Her owner was rushed to the hospital from her car and no one was aware that she had pets at home alone. When the owner became coherent she made hospital social workers aware that there were pets alone in the home. We were notified and given permission to go in to the home by the owner. We found that the cat and bird were both deceased on arrival but Cookie was in her kennel barely hanging on.
Cookie is doing much better now and recovering very well. She was able to have a spa day and is getting a lot of love and attention from her wonderful fosters. She is now ready for a new home.
(Cookie) “I am retried but still have some living to do. I am a laid back kind of gal with a great big personality and big brown eyes. I am good with other dogs. I am a little over weight but I am working on getting it off! Love my sun naps in the early afternoons.”
Let’s enjoy our golden years together-forever.
