Meet Sandy and Benji!
No, Benji is not the dog, Benji is the parakeet and Sandy is the sweetheart dog. The two of them found themselves alone when mom had to take a sudden trip to the hospital.
After a referral was sent across to us, our wonderful Foster/Adoption Co-Director, Bob Estep jumped right on the situation. He placed Sandy into our Neighbor-to-Neighbor foster program and he himself did an In-Home Foster service so that Benji would not have to leave his environment. For many, a crisis situation is also a crisis for their pets, often left alone with no one to care for them. This is where we can love to help!
Mom was able to return after a couple of days and reunite with her two special babies, Sandy and Benji.
This is just one of the many success stories we love to share because this is exactly what Chance Shelter is all about. Taking care of pets in crisis situations to help them reunite with their families.
If you would like to be a foster for our Neighbor-to-Neighbor program or just want to be a volunteer, please fill out the application for either fostering or volunteering on this website. We are always looking for wonderful, caring people to join our team.
