Audra has a Degree in Marketing and over 30 years of Customer Service experience with Managerial and Supervisory positions.
Audra was born and raised in Arizona and has lived in the City of Surprise for 16 years. She has an endless compassion for animals and community. Her purpose has lead her on a very rewarding journey; For several years she has volunteered with the City of Surprise Fire and Medical Crisis Response program of which she has now become a Shift Supervisor. Working together with other team members she takes care of the needs of people in crisis situations. Through the years of working with people needing help in times of crisis, Audra realized there was often an animal there with the very same needs.
Audra was honored to win Volunteer of the Year for the Surprise Fire and Medical Crisis Response Program in 2012, completing countless hours of Volunteer Service for the City of Surprise. She earned accomplished Training of Certificates in Crisis Response, Surprise Specific, National Incident Management Systems, National Academy of Emergency Dispatch, Point of Distribution, CPR, and Advanced Pet CPR and First Aid.
Often friends and family have heard Audra say, “if I win the lottery I will open a no-kill animal shelter so we can change the lives of abused and neglected animals and educate children and adults to make a difference in the community. Chance Shelter is a vision that came to me so many years ago, but I knew that to build such a strong asset for the City of Surprise and its surrounding communities, it would take time, patience, and a lot of support. Fortunately for me I am surrounded by many citizens that share the same compassion and caring for animals and community. I consider this to be my ‘winning the lottery’ “.
Audra’s purpose is to help animals and people in and around her community. Her journey is Chance Shelter.
